1-2-1 Nutrition Coaching
1-2-1 Nutrition Coaching
Youth athletes have increased and very specific nutritional demands compared to non-athletic teens of the same age. With this in mind, our SENr registered sport nutritionist will work with youth athletes and their parents to improve all aspects of their diet and nutrition. Our 1-2-1 coaching session will provide athletes with a bespoke nutrition plan tailored specific to their sport and needs and will guarantee to:
- Improve performance
- Maximise training adaptations
- Improve recovery
- Reduce the risk of injury and illness
- Take your sport to the next level and give you an edge over competitors
Athletes and their parents will work closely with our performance nutritionist to comprehensively assess their diet, goals, training and lifestyle. They will then be provided with an individualised meal plan and educational resources designed to optimise training, competition, performance and recovery as well ensuring optimal growth, development health. The plan will cover all aspects of nutrition from everyday basics through to game and training specific fuelling, and hydration.
The initial consultation is designed to get to know athletes and their individual needs so that we can optimise their nutrition to match training demands and maximise performance. We will use this time to get an in depth understanding of their training schedule performance goals, lifestyle and current dietary patterns.
This will include:
Comprehensive dietary analysis and feedback on individual 4-day food diary. Alongside goals and training schedules, this information will then be used to formulate bespoke meal plans, including appropriate timings for training and rest day routines.
Personalised Meal Plan
Athletes will work with the nutritionists to learn how to create a tailored meal plan periodised to their own training demands that fits around their school and sport schedules. With access to the YSN Kitchen App, athletes and parents will have all of the tools they need to fuel their training and maximise their performance.
Athletes will be provided with a resource package which will provide information on the fundamentals of nutrition which underpin performance and provide them with the tools to implement and optimise their own nutritional strategies going forward.
Follow up Sessions
Follow up sessions are recommended to review progress, make any necessary amendments to the plan or to provide further guidance. It is recommended that follow up sessions are scheduled in for 4 weeks after athletes receive their plan, allowing them plenty of time to get to grips it.
All packages will include email or instant messaging support for 14-days following athletes receiving their plans.
What makes PRO-TEEN different?
Youth athletes balance frequent, intense participation in sport along with transitioning through rapid periods of growth. If they are selective eaters, or skip meals, this this places them at a greater risk of nutritional deficiencies.
PRO-TEEN was developed by evaluating their most common nutritional deficiencies and the heightened need for specific nutrients important for growth and development.
These include calcium, vitamin D, phosphorous, vitamin B12, vitamin B6 plus a lot more, which you can learn about here.

What are NUTRI-TEEN bars and what do they do?
NUTRI-TEEN Bars are a whole-food energy source for active children on the go.
They are designed as a pre or in-game snack to boost blood sugar levels to ensure that your children have enough fuel in their tank to perform optimally.
Does my child need NUTRI-TEEN bars?
If you are a parent of a youth athlete who struggles with getting the right foods in before or during sport then NUTRI-TEEN may be the textbook choice.
Our high-energy bars are also perfect for kids who skip breakfast before early morning training or as midday energy lunchbox snack.
When should my child eat a NUTRI-TEEN bar?
NUTRI-TEEN was developed by looking at the most difficult meal or snack times that active youths face.
Parents told us that finding a suitable pre or in-game snack is one of these occasions.
Ideal for when selective eating or busy schedules/traveling may otherwise compromise ability to eat well. To reap the benefits of this energy snack, we recommend consuming within 30-60 minutes before exercise. NUTRI-TEEN can also double up as a halftime/in-game snack.
Why is there so much sugar?
Even the best fuelled athletes will need to boost their energy stores in exercise lasting longer than 60 minutes, especially younger athletes.
This is where the simple sugars come in handy.
To ensure a quick release of energy and prevent stomach pains, snacks and drinks high in simple sugars should be consumed during half-time breaks or between events.
